Welcome to the oldest rainforest on Earth. A trip to Tropical North Queensland is not truly complete without a visit to this ancient and unique wonder. You will experience an incredible place of unparalleled beauty and biodiversity, filled with plants and wildlife found nowhere else on the planet. Currently considered to be around 140 million years old, the Daintree is a living remnant of prehistoric times, where Kangaroos live in the trees and giant birds roam through the dense undergrowth.
Daintree Safaris invites you to explore one of the most fascinating parts of our world in luxury and style. Our tour takes no more than six guests per day, travelling in the comfort of a spacious, late model Toyota 200 Series Land Cruiser featuring individual air conditioning and equal leg room throughout. After all, you’ve come a long way to see us and we think that you deserve the best.
We begin our day by crossing the Daintree River on a cable ferry to the heart the Daintree Rainforest where we stop to enjoy a morning tea of homemade muffins and locally grown tea or freshly ground plunger coffee followed by a leisurely guided walk.
Explore the only place on the planet where two World Heritage Listed sites meet as the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef touch at Cape Tribulation’s beach.
Enjoy the fun of off-road, four wheel driving as we make our way up the Bloomfield Track to sparkling Emmagen Creek for a stroll and then a refreshing swim in the cool turquoise waters.
Try a cool, tropical, delight at the Daintree Ice Cream Company then stop for a few photos at the scenic Alexandra Lookout where the Daintree River flows out into the Coral Sea.
Lunch is served at the Daintree Tea House Restaurant where you’ll dine in comfort in any weather. Choose your meal from the menu; chicken breast, juicy steak, vegetarian, or our far northern speciality, fillet of Barramundi. All meals are served with salad, chips, fresh bread, juice and an array of fresh tropical fruit.
We’ll finish our day with a one hour guided wild life spotting cruise on the mighty Daintree River, home to the largest reptile in existence, the fearsome Saltwater Crocodile.
With 20 years local experience and National Park permits, Daintree Safaris knows exactly how to show you the best of the Daintree Rainforest and create precious memories that will last you a lifetime.
